Just got my approval too for category F1. Can't find anything to outline what rate of payment this is. Does anyone here know??

No idea - ring the county council and ask them

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I looked for my acceptance letter last year and it explained what the codes meant, unfortunately there was no mention of F1, NA1 meant the full non adjacent rate so Im going to assume that oif you thought you were legble for the full non adjacent rate well F1 is probabley it

Last year I got the full adajcent rate which was categorised as A1.. I would imagine F1 is at the lower end of the scale? Like maybe partly tuition fees paid or something. That is just a guess though I am totally open to correction.

OP - your personal circumstances? Would it be possible that you got a grant on the lower end of the scale?

Does the Higher education grant cover part time courses as well, sounds interesting as I am thinking about heading back to college but cash is an issue.

    No

But you can get a refund of 20% of your tuition fees from the revenue commissioners

    Ahhh, now I see......good guess!

There are six levels of grant. If A1 is the full adajcent rate (level 6), then F1 must be level 1. It makes sense because I'm getting BTEA which renders me ineligible for any "cash" payment (grant-wise).

Just another thing though. As a first time mature student undergrad who satisfies the residency requirement and all the other millions of rules that make you eligible. Am I right in assuming that tution fees are free, whether you get the maintenance grant or not?

If you are a first time undergrad, you should be entitled to free fees.

Did you find out what F1 is - is it fees only?
