CafeBarDeli by far but also (surprisingly) Uncle Petes.
    Ginos.

    No.

Nice one, I haven't tried any of these places. I'm working with a group of Italian students and they've been looking for good pizza.

    anyone been to novacentos?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 674 ✭✭✭kaki

Yeah, Novecento is brilliant, actual live-blooded Italians own it as well! Crispy bases, traditional toppings, beside Fionnbaras so great before/after/in between pints.

Ginos is ok, but imo it's a homogenised version of pizza. Too much cheese, too dense base...

I second that. Novacento en route on my walk into town, good way to start the night eating a slice on the way to the pub, Beautiful Pizza

    Hello All,
might check out some of those reccomendations. I live in Fermoy and the Wimpys Siciliana (onion and mushroom) is the best pizza i have tasted. If you are ever out in the countryside.....PB

Have you tried them because they're really good. Their rocket and parma ham is the closest I've gotten to that pizza in Italy. First stop in the city would be Uncle Pete's.

Why? Sober Lane pizza is lovely.

Uncle Petes is really great, but very very dear. I still quite like 4 star and even Apache as well. That said, I just like pizza. I love the make your own in Dunnes as well.

An exact copy of a pizza in Amicus, just minus the feta cheese :p

Wait, are you accusing Sober lane of copying an Amicus pizza, because it's a fairly standard - without feta - pizza in Italy

Their baguettes are very good value. Had a desire for their steak and cheese on saturday, but was lazy and phoned Dominos for pizza; it was a bad choice.

I wish the opposite re Novecento - even their smallest size is too much for me. Great pizza though. And Fast Al's is yum too.

TBH, Pizza's are like BJ's, even when they are bad, they are still pretty good.

That said, I just love Pizza, no matter where I get it! :D I really couldn't decide on the best because I would keep finding pro's about other ones and comparing them in a circle! :D

Novecentos. It's savage. Best in the city imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,453 ✭✭✭Shenshen

    Novecentos.

One of the few places in the whole of Ireland that actually does decent pizza!!!
Just like I remember it from Italy, perfect crust, yummy tomato sauce, great cheese, I could gorge myself just on their Margharita. And their toppings are dreamy... try the roast vegetable one, I've been there with Italian friends and even they were impressed! ;)

    Milanos

I was there last week with work collegues, and the pizza was just gorgeous! Won't be long till I'm there again, definately recommend it

Can't bring myself to go there after the one in the IFSC where the standard is appalling.

Without a doubt, Milano. When there are these big companies who have absolutely perfected the taste of the pizza, nothing else can compare.

Anyone who has mentioned Amicus has no clue about pizza! They use like Dolmio sauce.

I have tried a number of the other places and I constantly go back to the cheaper, faster and tastier stuff in Milano.

    Ed.
