Issue with running shoes

First of all apologies if that's a wrong forum - Mods please feel free to move to the right one.

I recently bought a pair of running shoes but short after i put them on my foot starts to hurt. It doesn't happen in any other shoes.
Does it mean I've bought the wrong ones? If yes - how do I choose the right ones?
Or does your foot need to adjust to running shoes as they are differently shaped as normal ones?(just my theory ;)).
I thought I bought good ones as the company is very well know for their sport clothing/equipment.

    I will appreciate any thoughts/feedback.

Will get a better explanation over on the Athletics/ Running/ Triathlon forum.

Worth getting a pair of shoes from an actual proper running shop where they give you the gait analysis as well and will fit you with the right shoes for your feet and running style, rather than a fashion shop who will just sell you the ones with the fastest stripes on them.
