Hi all have changed irons from r7s stiff to r9s reg shaft.
Now I know I should have custom fitted, but I was getting a great deal , but the new shaft feels a bit weak to me so am presuming I need a stiffer shaft, any recommendations and a rough estimate would be welcome

Why not put the old R7 shafts into the R9's. I'd imagine your local pro could do this for a modest fee

Could work out not too far off the price of your irons depending what you choose. A set of dynamic gold shafts will cost from £15 sterling a shaft, excluding grips and fitting. Project X etc. would be alot more again (£25 to £30 each).

Check out http://www.clubcrafters.co.uk/products-of-true-temper-golf-shafts~7~14.aspx for a ballpark.

I got a great deal on my irons last year as they had regular shafts in them. I then bought a full set of true temper sl300's off ebay (they were pulled from callaway irons) for 30 quid & assistant pro in Birr golf shop fitted them for 110e & pulled the mizuno grips off the original shafts & re-gripped the new shafts with them. Also fitted me for proper lie angle & adjusted the lie of the irons.

Check & double check the tip diameter of the shaft before you buy to make sure they match your clubs.
