Ongoing debate here in the office about turbos and various manufacturers (slow day). Anyway I think I remember reading an article a few while back where and Irish manufacturer based in the south east was building the turbos for porsche but they don't believe me.

Google is failing me so and input apprecitae or should I go and get some cream to have with the humble pie I may have to eat

    Thanks

I'd say there's more than one making OEM turbos. KKK, Garrett, IHI and a few others I'd imagine?

I think you're right with the SE connection, is it Garrett?

I expected there to be a few and Garrett sprang to mind. They were bought by Honeywell so maybe thats where I am getting the South east connection from - Honeywell Waterford.

Did Garrett have an operation in Ireland before that I wonder

Honeywell in waterford, make parts for a lot of turbos, they mainly make the fans blades themselves, they supply a lot of different places including Ford

My brother used to work for Garrett in waterford in the early 90's so they've been there for a while now.

it one of the main items made there, and it not the full turbo, just fan and blades....

Brother in law works on the furnaces making them for honeywell

Do BorgWarner do turbos too? I knew they did gearboxes, diffs, clutches, that type of thing.
