Blocked Kitchen Drain - Sink is fine

    Hi All,

hoping the someone can assist me - I'm kinda screwed...

I've a waste disposal unit in my sink, overloaded it, and the sink got blocked.
Except it appears that the sink it not blocked, rather it's the drain pipe.
I disconnected the u tube under the waste disposal unit and confirmed the water will run freely between sink and through U tube - so the block is not there.
However when I attempt to put water directly into the wast drain (after the u tube) the water backs up fairly quickly - indicating that the issue is there.
    Problem is that
a.) The tube does not exit the house externally, rather it runs out and underground
b.) There are two bends in tube before I can get to the vertical drop - so it's impossible to get a wire, or hose into it.
c.) I can't just fill the sink, let it back up and then attempt to plunge because there is an opening off shoot on the pipe, and the wast hose from the dishwasher goes in there, but obviously because of the blockage, when water backs up, it starts spewing out of there.

I'm considering dumbing a ton of draino or some similar caustic chemical to see will this help - but if I do that, and it does not help, I'd be concerned about the problems that would cause.

Alternatively, does anyone know of any effective tool I can buy / rent that will snake down a drain and than aggravate/clear a blockage?

Any help would be very very appreciated

    thanks

You can get a drain snake handy enough, JML does one infact, but its more suited to clearing hair out of drains than anything else.

If you can't plunge because of the drain inlet for the dishwasher, then block it up with a tissue or something and then plunge.
Failing that, get some caustic soda, mix it up and put it down, it'll eat through the blockage.
