    Gmail ftw.

No new messages in a more convenient format, and a different shade of blue?

    It's funny 'cos it's true.

I hate it. I found stuff I "deleted" in the Sent Items bit just now. Silly drag n' drop interface

you see when you live in a cave and complain about teachers you miss out on new inventions like GMAIL.

Then in one mesmorising moment he finished his Marlboro, tossed it by his heel, quenched it with his boot and walked into the internet horizon...

I don't like it either. I found stuff from my junk folder ended up in my deleted folder instead of just going away completely like they used to. Instead now, I have to go into the deleted folder and delete them again as they show up as a number (of unread messages) next to it .

Not meaning to sound lazy but shouldn't a newer version be better than the previous one or am I hoping for too much ?

    I have a gmail...I use both.

Hah Ive come across many teachers in my day who wouldn't even know how to turn on a laptop...I'm sure that 'Know Your Laptop' course will come in handy for a lot of those cave teachers.

Gone all gey? You can multi select pm's. Mark ones that are important and that you need to come back to, you can access several other accounts to retrieve your mail without logging out, you can create folders to store drafts/received mail. It looks better. You can log directly in to MSN from it and you have your contacts and calender right beside you. My only gripes with it is if you click a mail at the bottom of the page it jumps you back to the top before opening it.

I'll print this and send it to you via pigeon male Op.

Fair enough since it is years since I used hotmail. But 40 days is ridiculous.

I don't know why people have a beef with Hotmail. I've had the same account with them since 98 and never had any trouble with it. I can send emails and i can receive them. Simples

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,814 ✭✭✭TPD

Same as, can't understand all the hotmail hate. I've got a gmail and a couple of unique emails too, but I've had the hotmail for 7+ years, so who knows what websites logins are tied to it. Not worth the eventual hassle of switching.

    Hotmail vs Gmail

A new film by director Butch Van Tit Tweeker

Watch in amazement as two virtually identical e-mail providers battle it out over who has the best spam filtering, bash each other over folder arrangements and see which one can do anal things better, like turning "conversation view off".

"The best film I've seen this year - even better than 'One Legged Man in Arse Kicking Contest"
    , says Premiere

    "5 Stars", says Empire.

"Scumbag Drug Dealing Priest Dies in Hellhole Paedo Ring Brothel"
    , says The Daily Mail

The Must See Film of the Year... COMING TO A CINEMA NEAR YOU, SOON.

Only reason i have one is for MSN.

Gmail & Yahoo are better for security.

Yahoo ftw, I hate their search engine but their web email client is brilliant compared to Gmail or Hotmail (Cringe)

I was devoted to yahoo mail for a few years (my yahoo address, acquired in about 1998, was myverycommonrealname@yahoo.com... I couldn't bring myself to stray till about 2008) and finally bought into the whistles and bells of gmail two years ago. But by this stage, gmail's just got too much going on, and on my laptop it takes me automatically away from the Inbox to google calendar, allowing me a split second to click on the email I need. PITA... yahoo ftw
