Saw this dress on net-a-porter last night, I'm in love :o only problem is I'm by no means a small one, size 14 on bottom and 16-18 on top, so how do ye think it'd look on my shape?

That is very nice, I have DvF dresses and I love both. They're cut pretty average on top.

absolutely fab dress! I think it would be lovely on you! I say if you've got it, flaunt it. I'm a size 8 but I could never wear that. I have no chest!!

I think it's gorgeous. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere though, that if you're big chested, you should wear dresses with a V-cut on the front or something, that it was important to avoid a high neckline because they provide no break between neck and bust which can make things look bigger.

The fact that it's tight around the waist is a good idea though, to give definition to shape.

I love the dress tbh, and if you do too, maybe just buy it and see how it looks on?

I actually should've mentioned that I don't have big boobs, I'm barely a 38C at the best of times, 38B can fit quite comfortably :o

That dress is just gorgeous! €360 though? JESUS! If I had that sorta money to spend I'd buy it.

P.S. If your boobs are bigger than your belly i.e. your belly doesn't stick out further than your boobs then get this dress cos the waist tie thing will be fab but if you've got a big belly and they stick out in front of your boobs, then it's not gonna look good.

i think its beautiful - I wouldnt spend that much on a dress though unless it was for a really special occasion - especially without trying it on first

I was thinking for my conferring? And maybe, eh, asking mammy and daddy for it? Birthday and conferring all in one :o Says on the website, if it doesn't fit, you can just return it so...?

It's a beautiful dress, yes it's expensive but look at it as an investment piece :P

Its the sort of dress that would look good no matter what size you are - go for it!

I've got stuff from netaporter before, it arrives really quickly and beautifully packaged and is hand delivered by a guy in a suit! I'm sure the returns process is just as easy if it doesn't fit

Might see can I get it in BT's, anyone know if the Dublin one stocks DvF? I know the one in Galway does so I'm presuming the one in Dublin would? Got a rather nice voucher for BT that would cover nearly the cost of it but the idea of a guy in a suit hand delivering stuff is mighty tempting!

Brown Thomas stock Diane von Furstenburg, not sure sure how much of the range they have though. It's worth a look, even if they don't have this dress I'm sure there's something you can use the voucher for!

Id be more concerned about my legs in a dress like that. Its gorgeous but it looks very short, so your legs would want to be immaculate in it.

If you love DvF, go to matchesfashion.com as they have huge stock and the sale shop is half price. You can order via the website, but actually speak to the girls which is really, really handy for sizing, colours etc. My best DvF buys have been via the sale section in Matches. And the carriage costs are cheaper than NAP.

I checked but your little dress isn't on sale at the moment but they have other really nice stuff. And remember, DvF jersey is really stretchy and the wraps have acres of material in them giving a really comfortable fit. Hope this helps

I think it's lovely. My friend is about your size and wears things like this all the time and she looks great in them. I would wear tights with it though!

BarleyBooley I would never have put you as a size 16-18 on top, I think you're being harsh on yourself! I think it's a fab dress and perrrrrfect for your conferring, you'll look gorgeous in it! :D

    Aww, thanks Michellenman!

I think I would need to wear tights with it because it'll be the end of October and probably *miserable* :)

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

I want a guy in a suit to deliver packages to me.

    I love that dress.

  • It might look OK, depending on whether or not you have broad shoulders/big arms. If so, the high neckline wouldn't be very flattering. Personally, I think it's a hell of a lot of money to spend on a semi casual dress - I have one virtually identical (cheaper fabric, but looks very very similar) from Camden Market that I wear as a tunic with leggings, but it's your money!
