Confused about which training program

Ok lads, i'm just back from a 6 week holiday in the states in whivh I probably only trained 6-8 times. I am 6ft 1" tall, 12 stone, and about 11% body fat. Before I left my program consisted of doing a whole body workout but changing the exercises, i.e one day doing squats for legs, the next day doing deadlifts and the next day doing lunges. Here is just a brief summary of some of the exercises I completed for 3-4 sets of approx 8 reps.
    Bench 75 kg
    Deadlift 100kg
    Squat 100kg
    Dumb bell row 25kg
Unassisted pull ups for between 8-10 reps
Seated shoulder press dumb bells 20 kg
    Clean and jerk 40kg

I play hurlign and am looking to become stronger faster, while also developing a bit more size.
Would I be better off doing starting strength or a type of program that includes more exercises like I was doing before?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated lads, I am looking to get training as soon as possible.

Basically i'm looking for some advice as to continue training 3 x 8 or start a 5 x 5 program? I presume the 5 x 5 program will produce more gains for me as I have never attempted one before?

I'd go with starting strength. Found it very good, but I'm not sure how well it would complement GAA training.
