Could it be the firewall settings you have on your modem?? When I got my adapter I couldn't get it to log on so I checked my settings, I'm with eircom by the way.

if you're with Eircom type 192.168.1.254 into your address bar, you'll be directed to your Modem settings. Under the Firewall heading, lower the setting from medium to low. This worked for me.
    Good luck!
