there are some nice red stags residing on my permission down in kerry. they make the sika look tiny. nice to see them but it can put a shiver down your spine when the get close

there are plenty of red deer in meath, all up and down the boyne valley and spreading like wildfire , thank you very much ward union

Plenty of reds in Meath no doubt, bit of ground I have had over 300 on it when we started managing it, only 400 acres !! As landkeeper says reds are popping up everywhere along the boyne valley !!

more of them the better, they really are a noble beast. best stalking ever is on the red:D

It was an old farm right on the boyne andnthey had refused to let anyone shoot the deer for years, lots of woods and surrounded by tillage and maize, like a giant deer hotel nature reserve

Eventually they came under pressure from neighbouring farmers and following road crashes and lucky old me got the call

First evening there we counted over 300 deer !! What we shot in that first year bought us a brand new cold store and handling unit !! Now down to a healthy round 100 head.

There was a magnificent 26 pointer that some f****ing poachers shot one night, found the beast early next day with head cut off !!

Heres one of the mammoths that grow there that a dutch fell took down !! It was like a bullock, took five of us to haul it into the landrover !!

ha i remember ( with groans ) one that was shot not too far from where that pic was taken t he was a pricket and was 24 stone dressed :eek:
a few crosses of wapiti blood makes for interesting dragging
