    alright lads.

hopefully someone can assist me here. Basically i use mp3 decks, and i plug my external hard-drive into them when DJ'ing. I have 7,000 songs on my hard-drive.

I was recently given an i-pod as a present and i want to put some of these mp3's on to it. Anyone know how i can do that without jeopardising the mp3 files??

    thanks lads.

    use this

    http://www.getsharepod.com/

basically extract all the songs from the ipod to your computer and then load them all back into itunes.then you can make playlists or add whatever you like

    thank you.

when you say extract, do you mean copy & paste from my ext. H-D? because i want to leave my ext. H-D intact

nothing got to do with your external hd

you want to get the songs off the ipod so extract the songs from the ipod using the programme.

you can then add the extracted songs to anywhere you want.you can put them in your external hd along with the other 7000.
you can add them to itunes so that when you sync your ipod up to itunes you can put those songs back on the ipod along with whatever new ones you want to add

    simples

ooops sorry dude.i presumed the ipod had songs on i that you were trying to save.

okay so forget that download.just import the songs from your hd into itunes and sync the ipod to itunes.it wont remove the mp3s from your external hd itll simply make a copy of them and place that in itunes

sorry about the other posts got the wrong end of the stick completely
