Was thinking of bringing my Mam for a w/end away to either of these places dont really know much about either in terms of weather, things to do, cost etc will do some research but just wondering if anyone can reccomend either. Looking for nice scenery historical landmarks, nice restaurants, little tea shops good weather etc both seem nice but cant make up my mind.

I spent a week in the Isle of Man last year with my family and had a lovely time. The weather was dry, reasonably sunny and about 18 - 20C.There is lots of nice little beaches, ice cream shops, cafes etc. It is a small island about 33 X 15 miles. Douglas is the main town and Ramsey is the next. Lovely scenery and you can use the trams to get aroun if you fancy.I would go back again but for a weekend this time as a week may be a long time on a small island.

Would highly recommend Jersey also. Although like previous poster, I have not been to Isle of Man.

Jersey is a gorgeous island, with a very French feel to it. Has some beautiful villages by the sea, fab beaches and lovely country side. As it's so near France, when the weather is nice, it's very nice.

There's a pearl farm in Jersey which I found amazing, some nice jewellery too at all prices.
Loads of seaside walks there too, should be nice weather this time of year.
The lighthouse and the old German museum are also interesting.
Jersey is a safe clean place but can be expensive to fly into, we paid for a hotel in St. Brelade but I'd be lying if I said the price.

I've been to both - I sometimes say I spent a week in Douglas one day. It's not that bad, though!

You will probably get better weather in Jersey, simply because it is further south. The Isle of Man is hilly and rugged, while Jersey is relatively low-lying. If you want scenic drives then the Isle of Man is better.

You'll probably find yourself sharing the Isle of Man with a greater or lesser number of bikers. Jersey will have a relatively large number of Rolls Royces and similar vehicles.

Jersey is definitely more expensive, both just getting there and then staying there. That's partly the way the two islands position themselves, and the markets they are trying to attract.

Jersey feels that bit more "foreign".

The Isle of Man is the place to go! Some useful info below -check the blogroll for travel information. You won't need to bring a car or hire one. Clean, frequent and safe public transport gets you everywhere you could want to go. Packed with things to see and do. :)
