Hi Guys was looking for any ideas for a hotel anywhere in Ireland (based in Dublin) for the family (2 and 2) with a pool (to throw the children in) and that are family friendly.

Had a look at Carrigaline Court which is a really good price but was thinking it might be too far away from the city, etc if the weather is crap which in this country is most likely:rolleyes:.

Any ideas would be most welcome ...thanks:D

    Hi,
There is a bus stop directly outside the door of carrigaline court if travelling is a worry. There is also a nice walk from carrigaline to crosshaven which also has recently placed cycling lanes.

We stayed in The killerig in tullow/Carlow last week and the kids went to the kids club and they enjoyed it even going to the dome for bowling one night.
They also show movies on a large screen after tea for kids.€499 with supervalu for the week self catering in a 3 bed house.
We are seriously thinking of going back there for another week in august.
    Kids club is €49 + €20 for subsequent kids.ie €69 for 2.

Would be worth looking at Fota island resort Cork. They have holiday homes for families but you can use the pool (4-5hrs a day) and hotel facilities. Had basketball court and swings set up too. Also only 15 mins from Cork city and close to Fota wildlife park.

I was there in a couple (no kids) recently but lots of families around. Lovely hotel too.

Op, you absolutely have to go to breaffy woods in castlebar if you have kids. Went last year and the offspring even prefer it to a previous holiday in disney so we went again this year. It helps too that they have fantastic deals as the hotel group are in receivership.

They run a superb kids club with a kids club and nightly kids discos where you also get to relax in the bar. Got horse rides and astro turf pitch.

Can't be beaten for the price. We got three nights for 170 per adult including two dinners and breakfasts and kids are free for that too.
