    For a 19yo, with 0 NCB and have held a license for 0 yrs (?), on a 3dr, 1.4litre 2001 Golf - Quinn quoted €3840 for Third Party/Fire Theft and €4598.38 for Fully Comp.

Might be lower with 123.ie (travelers etc) or some other broker. Try online and find out. Then go ring up the places don't won't give you an online quote tomorrow (there'll be quite a few!).

I paid €3800 fully comp on a 1.3 Mitsubishi Colt with the exact same circumstances as you about 5 years ago. So, maybe a smaller engine size would be better for you (despite the fact that Golf is quite slow and heavy).

got quoted today under my parents for 2400-4k
got quoted by myself for 1870...hard to fathom why it's cheaper when I'm on my own? I'm delighted none the less! :D

€1870 is very good. I would have expected €3000+ for a 19yo learner.

    I think I paid 1050 at 19 on a 2.0l 306. But I had a full licence and a years experience. That's four years ago through Quinn.

That's really good! Where'd you get that quote from may I ask?

You'll be looking at over 2500 anyways. Maybe even hit over 3000.
