So according to the news a crazy load of APC's and what not arrived back from chad today.

Anyone know what aircrafts were there making the drop off?

Id hazard a guess at AN124's? They used them on the way over if i remember correctly.

    By Sea???LOL
Take a look at a map! Chad is landlocked and it would be a 1000km overland journey to the nearest seaport.
Also there are not any bordering countries that would be happy about allowing an armoured UN convoy transit their country.
In fact apart from Libya, every country bordering Chad is experiencing varying degrees of insurgency and unrest(As is libya, just have control of whats reprted there ;) ) So travelling to any port would combine a serious element of risk

Sorry but I had to laugh at this comment. Yes the consignment of in excess of 3k tonne arrived into Dublin PORT today. By sea. That's why it took so long. It came by SEA.:D

i think it was the long drive across country that the convoy had to the interbational airport that you were thinking of but they did fly home. due to the countries poor economic condition there is only one airport runway capable of taking a fully laden AN124 with mowags. not to mention taking off again. i think the drive was around 800 miles or so pretty tedious considering its mostly dirt tracks and of road.
