Replacing iPhone 3GS

    Hi all,

Unfortunately my 3Gs got badly water damaged and can't be fixed. My options seem to be to either get a second hand replacement online - which I'm not really in favour of because I don't want to risk ending up with a stolen phone - or else getting myself a new HTC desire (as they are more affordable than a new 3Gs).

Any opinions? Will there be any problems using the HTC with my current SIM etc?

    Appreciate any replies!

most people that have iphones are fairly clued up so if its stolen they will hav their network block out the IMEI of the iPhone which should reduce the risk of buying a stolen one.

    Thanks for the reply kceire.

It may indeed be the case that thieves are put off stealing the phones because they can be blocked but that doesn't solve the problem of me ending up buying a stolen one - a situation I really want to avoid.

Would you not test it before you buy if it does not read your sim or an o2 sim its stolen,
