    This - http://gizmodo.com/5563483/power-a-makes-a-wireless-xbox-360-controller-for-the-ps3

Just €30 for the wireless version which is a bit of a steal considering some of the prices I've seen for it online. It's a godsend for people like me who just can't go back to the Dualshock after the Xbox 360's controller. The analogue sticks are snappy and responsive with no noticable dead zone, the buttons are fine and the motion controls work just as well as the Dualshock. Definately worth picking up if, like me, you can't stand the Dualshock.

Yep. No noticable difference between the Dualshock rumble and this.

This is the best PlayStation 3 controller right now, precisely because it's not shaped like a PS3 controller.

    what a stupid statement .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,405 ✭✭✭gizmo

Argh, they're not available from the Argos UK site yet. :(
    what a stupid statement .
One which many people would agree with however. Plus, if there weren't a large number of people unhappy with the controller shape, PowerA wouldn't be making them, would they? :)

    Savage. Is this onsale now??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

I realise it probably is if you have one. I've been looking forward to these. Only SUPERIOR or FPS. Another 50 hours of MAG this week should feel less crampy :)

the only thing i like about the 360 controller over the dualshock is the shoulder triggers and this is the one thing they left out, what a let down.

i'm just wondering how sh1t does someone have to be at a game before they settle on blaming the shape of their controller.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

Ha. What a weird response. Some people just don't like the shape/feel of the Dualshock. I don't mind it, I'd just prefer this for FPS. Anyway, it clearly trumps the 360 controller as it has a D-Pad that doesn't look like it handles like a 2 euro coin balancing on a screwhead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,561 ✭✭✭✭Varik

if a developer puts any time into controls there should be no problem the only reason i don't like the 360 controllers is the battery pack on the wireless.

I was going to reply to this in seriousness but instead opted to do so with a giant bear...

    215161632_vH4R5-L-2.jpg

I also understand the folly of expressing delight that someone is attempting to release a better PS3 controller which isn't in the shape of a PS controller on the PS forum but blaming the developer for an awkward controller is a bit much, no?

It solves the problem of the Left Analogue Stick position but it looks like something that you could make yourself.

Just reserved the last one in Tallaght, should make me less shit as a gamer.

Jesus, why would you buy it if you don't know if you like the 360 controller?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,310 ✭✭✭spider_pig

to try it out simple same as people do with food they taste it if they like it buy more,i bought it didn't like it brought it back iv held an xbox control the analogues are not as stiff as they are on this one that was my point the analogues are too stiff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

The 360 controllers are preffered by many exactly because the analogue sticks are stiffer. They feel snappier and less floaty and there's much less of a deadzone. Either way, if you're selling it, I'll give you a score for it.

Don't forget about concave analog heads being preferable to convex ones. :)

This is going to take a little getting used to. The sticks are stiff, but the exact same as the 360. I can't aim for **** in MAG, I guess I've gotten used to all the little things with the Dualshock. Stupid MAG won't let me try out Fire on the RT. The Start and Select are worryingly unresponsive.

Gonna play with it for the rest of the week. It's always hard to change. It feels great anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

These sticks will loosen up a bit with 50 hours or so, too.

Yeah we get it you play 50 hours of MAG a week you've mentioned it twice already...

Is that something you're actually proud of?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

I don't remember saying it twice, but I do apologise. I wasn't trying to show off that I played FIFTY HOURS OF MAG THIS WEEK, COME ON!

Well i had originally posted a smart arsed comment, but after receiving two infractions in the last three weeks i thought it best to retract my comment.:)

Yeah, well if you weren't being such a smart ass, maybe you could play 50 hours of MAG a week too.

That goes for all of you.

Do enlighten me. Within the context of using this joypad, i.e the thread topic of course.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 226 ✭✭Chrizfitz

got my reserved 1 in liffey vally last night and put in about 3 hours of HL2, I am very impressed and it is prob the best 3rd party pad I have ever used. Friend of mine is goin out to buy a ps3 today as it was the control pad that was holding him back.

I wonder if I buy more will each pad need a dongle?

For me it really completes my ps3 setup, sports games like pes and tiger woods are perfect with the ps3 controller any fps is perfect with the xbox control style. IMO

Each to their own i suppose. I found it one of the best shooters in recent months, better that MW2 anyway!

Haha. Something this tells me this isn't the response he was looking for.

It's a good pad. A little stiff, which is good if you though the Dualshock are too loose. The triggers feel cool. Oddly disappointed you can't turn on your console with it.

Yup. Had two when I searched too, didn't reserve it til I got to work, was only one left then.

I actually like this controller, feels comfy and meaty in my hands.
Decent lenght of charging cable with it too, reaches my chair, so I can charge and play in comfort.
If anyone prefers the 360 controller over the PS3 one, I would definitely get this.
