Hi guys, just looking for some help but a complete tit, so please nothing too technical as I'm completely challenged in that respect:o

I've read some of the forum and was leaning towards an (affordable) box that can automatically update new channels coming online/HD/recordable (can't fecking remember if that was FTA or Freeview) but was browsing through Maplin and seen they have a big line in Sats and was wondering if any of these would be a better and possibly cheaper option. Don't think I'd do ANY of the installation myself cause I'd like it done properly:). Any help greatly appeciated.

Cool John Mac, thanks for the advice. I'm outside the city close to Clarenbridge.

Shop around. Maplin can be expensive. Freesat boxes are anything from €70 for a basic box to euro 250 for a good Freesat+ box (excl. sat dish and installation)

If you are getting quotes establish what type of box you are getting and whether you are being offered a single, twin or quad lnb on the sat dish. (twin or quad required if you want to run cables to more than one room.)

Thanks Trevord. Don't suppose anyone on here would have any recommendations for installers, in this area by any chance?
