After seeing the B-52 over Bray on the box I'm ever so slightly PO'd that the Salthill Airshow is gone. Any news on any possible resurrections?

Its amazing that a US Air Force B52 Bomber yes a Bomber can appear at an Air Show in Dublin and there is not a word from any Anti War group, if that happened at the Salthill Air Show Farrell and company would be wetting their knickers with all the bull**** and propaganda that they come out with, they would be contacting all the press crying about this weapon of mass destruction but its ok for Dublin because no one would listen to the p...k.

Seriously, the problem here is a massive disporpotion of media coverage for such a tiny minority of protestors.
I am confident for next year, and certainly for 2012 for the arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race.

    Totally agree with you galwayrush.
Also the lack of support from local businesses didn't help either. They're happy to reap the financial rewards of an airshow weekend. It costs a lot of money to run the show.

John Gormley was too busy dealing with an incinerator in his back yard to notice a B52 flying over his house.

Richard Boyd Barrett was very quite, perhaps the B52 gave him a fright flying over his house in Dun Laoire :D:D:D

The aircraft remained well over the sea at all times - unfortunately!

From what i have seen in the casa theres not enough room in the ramp area to fit even the black knights its a tight squeeze

The Black Knights are using AW139's to drop from ...prior to that I've seen them jumping from the old Alouettes

When did the Baldonnel airshow last take place? I'm becomming a closet fan of airshows, I spend a lot of time working at some of them in the UK (Waddington, Yeovilton, Leuchars and Farnborough) and have started to gain a (small) interest n the planes as well as the medical end, which is why I'm there. It would be great to see a show along the same size as Yeovilton or Leuchars in Ireland

Bal has had many over recent years but they have been Air Corps family days etc, the last "proper" one was in 2000.
