    Hey everyone..

So heres the deal.. I'm getting this dress (well, as close as i get to this dress) http://www.therosedress.com/shop/products/itemCD.asp?id=3066&vendorid=CD made for my debs.

One problem..Its proving very difficult to find something to make the piece around the waste/ on the straps.

The colour of my dress is a little more sky blue rather than turqoise, so I'm going for silver rather than gold.

ANY ideas welcome, I'm totally stumped!!

    Cheers :)

Have you tried the likes of Hickeys, Woolen Mills etc. for trimmings? What does the dressmaker suggest?

Something which I've done myself is to get a decorated headband and cut off the elastic and sewed on. There are so many types available in pretty much all of the highstreet stores you're bound to get something that would suit.

    Thanks for the reply! :)

I live in Waterford and we literally have two fabric shops in the city, and both have nothing that would work! They have ribbon but its very grey as opposed to silver. Dress maker says.." buy whatever you want and I'll sew it on, its up to you!" so she wasnt much help!

Yeah I've considered the headband idea myself, only thing is I would need 10 or more of the pieces .. so I'm not sure it would work in reality.

I know I can get the gems & rhinestones on ebay, its the silver braiding/plait thats behind it which is proving next to impossible to source!

Anyone know of any good online stores that may have something like that??

    Try Etsy.

You could try something like this or this or this this.

None of them are perfect though.

I'm fairly certain that Hickeys has what you're looking for so if you know anyone who will be near a Hickeys ask them to have a look.
