(3GS) unlock first or update it

    I am going to update my gf's 3gs to version 4.01 but I am wondering should I wait for 02 to issue the unlock code first before I update it or does it make a differance? They said I have to wait 2 weeks to get the unlock code from apple? But I am tempted to just update the phone now while I am online.

    If you want to be able to jailbreak it in the future you better jailbreak it before upgrading so you can save your shsh's with cydia.

    - If what I just said made no sense what so ever just go ahead and upgrade - you'll be fine! :)
