EGR problem

    Hello all,

To cut a long story short, I removed and cleaned my EGR valve. Its quite possible I damaged the electric motor when refitting.
Also, quite a bit of diesel spilt just in front of my fuel filter when I removed a hose pipe to get to the EGR. I think this might have caused some of these faults also.

Planet is telling me = P1728 - Remote permanent fault, Engine torque, Engine sent on the can incorrect?

P0405 - Permanent fault, EGR valve circuit, low EGR repeat raw signal

U1208 - intermittent fault, communication with the engine management ecu fault, incorrect value received

These message also popped up on my dash - Depollution system fault and ESP/ASR fault & its now in economy mode?

I learned the EGR, which didnt clear the faults and i carried actuator test which all seemed to work?

Also, I was not able to refit the v band clamp from the egr to the heat exchanger. Any ideas where to get one of these clamps. 1.5 '' in size. I searched online but to of no avail?

    Ps. its a peugeot 407 1.6 HDI

    Regards
    Rich

these have a particle filter for the cat. If that gets damaged you will know all about it so perhaps you ecu is saving you from greater costs.

Hey, did you ever get this sorted? I've got exactly the same 3 codes.
Basically the previous owner blocked off the egr and deleted it from the ecu, and he deleted a load of the faults too, but I was left with the u1208 and an ESP light. I had to flash an original bin file I found online to get an accurate fault reading which is when the other two faults finally appeared..
