    I'm with THREE Ireland.

Interested in buying an iPhone 3gs 32gb.

Will any iPhone 3gs work with THREE Network?

What specifications do I need/what info do I need to know to get my Three simcard be compatible with an iphone 3gs.

    Any help appreciated. rolleyes.gif

I'm pretty sure they recently released a carrier update that will sort all the settings out for you automatically.

Otherwise you just need a sim free (factory unlocked) 3GS. Thats it.

Oh and if you're already with 3, then ring them up and ask them about getting a 3GS on upgrade, they do them for that, but dont advertise the fact.

Never had these probs on o2, if anyone has a quick fix please let me know, dreading ringing up 3 customer service to ask for help:(:(

Me too, coming tomorrow, can't wait, I take it if I want to jailbreak the phone I shouldn't upgrade to ver. 4. Also how do you get the carrier update without upgrading the ios.
So many questions, would also love to hear any thoughts of iphone 3gs users on 3.

Take my advice and check somewhere like iclarified.com. There was a right row yesterday over upgrading. iClarified will tell you exactly what is available for each phone.

have had 2 iPhones working perfectly with Three, 3GS included. With the carrier update its now fully supported.

I saw iTunes trying to push a new 3 carrier update to my 3GS, but didn't know what it was! Mine's a factory-unlocked 3GS.. should I accept the carrier update via iTunes? The phone is working fine as it is.. :o

Don't update with the factory unlocked one, you gain a link to planet 3 but loose the ability to change the APN's, you need to do a complete restore to undo the carrier update. If you happy enough your settings are right the update isn't worth it.

Phew! Thanks drunkmonkey, will steer clear!

    Cheers! :D

Can I manually get carrier update. iTunes wants to send me OS4 at same time, I've official unlocked but jailbroken phone.

Fones4U in Midleton advised me today that they won't be carrying the iP4 due to software and antenna issues........

More likely due to the fact that the carphone warehouse and the networks own brand stores are only allowed to carry it.

You can go into a 3 store right now and register your interest, would be advisible, there may be very limited stocks on launch day, anyone interested will be contacted I'd say on Thursday...

It's battle of the price plans time now, Vodafone will probably keep the same plans, 02 probably have something up their sleeve and 3 just need to do a little tweaking to really shake things up...
