well it's at ground level during air-maneuvers, using afterburners to make loops, etc.

Not the kind of IR that will sniff it out from 10 miles away and launch an a2a at it.

You should see her with drop tanks on, totally un-stealthy, look like F-15/16 tanks too.

waste of money, there's nowhere near enough of them to be effective F15 replacements

super hornets would have done the job but heaven forbid the airforce would buy a Navy design!

I believe the F22 is doomed to be a "show off" Aircraft within the USAF due to the production line ceasing.

Why go with a stop gap fighter like the SuperHornet when they have the F-35 to go to. The USAF have other types to fill the gap while USN have all their eggs in one basket till the F-35C comes online. The Superhornet is a compromised design for Navy use.

The USN were forced to get the SuperBugs because the Legacy Hornets are running out of hours and have very short range and the F-14s were taking up too much money to look after.

The F-22 will be a force multiplier to use alongside the F-35 variants and future UCAVs. 183 F-22s is enough, there are no large scale dogfights anymore and no nation would be willing to take on the USAF or USN in large scale air to air combat. The F-22's primary role is not needed anymore like it was when the YF-22s first flew in 1990. It took another 15 years to get the F-22 combat ready and time passed it by.

The F-35 is will be more than a match for any fighter out there in BVR combat and it will be have superior performance than the F-16 or F-18 in a dogfight.

She was indeed developed for the USN.
