Dental Extraction

Hi, this is my first time to ask a question. Hope I have posted in the proper place.

I am in the long process of having alot of dental work done. Am doing great with it at the moment, considering I hadn't been to a Dentist in years. Have being attending the Dentist over the last six weeks now, once a week.

Anyway, I have Asthma and use my inhaler twice up to four times a day. (I do take two puffs before I go in to the Dentist aswell, because I actually find being at the Dentist can be a trigger - probably all in my mind, but it puts me more at ease) This keeps my asthma under control. Haven't had an attack in about ten weeks. I am due to get an extraction next week and a bit worried because I don't know will I be allowed use the inhaler when there is an open wound in my mouth. Would the inhaler infect the wound. I know I should probably have asked the Dentist, but I completely forgot to let him know that I have asthma. Thanks a million for any advice.

hi, make sure you use the inhaler or inhalers the same, before the appointment, as you always do and bring the inhaler with you also. and yes, you can use the inhaler with an extraction socket present afterwards. good luck
