Waiting for op.

Hi all,I think this the right place to post this.

My mother has been waiting for an operation on her ankle since last December.
She has had the condition for 17 years and it's gotten worse as time goes on.
She used to get injections in her ankle every 3 months to help but they've stopped now as it wasn't much use.
I can't think of the name of the condition but it's like this blockage,I can't explain it very well.
It's gotten far worse recently, she can hardly walk sometimes and it keeps her up at night with pain.

Anyway, the operation it to open something to help everything flow better,to stop the blocking.
Is there anything she can do to try and get the op done sooner?
She's been on to her rheumatologist about it,who first suggested the idea but to no avail.

    Thanks.

    Hi Storm2811,

It will depend on how long your mum is on the waiting list for the op, I know you mentioned Dec last year but that doesn't mean that she was added to the list at that stage.

If you go to www.ntpf.ie they should be able to help answer some of your questions!

Hope this is some use, and you mum gets treated shortly.
