DH busted the screen on his laptop (don't ask!!) and it looks like it might be cheaper to buy a new one rather than replace the screen ... that's what he's been told!
Anyways, I'd like to buy him one but I am not at all technically minded so haven't a clue even where to start:o

He only really uses it for internet and to download movies on (and load movies on to now too) ... so am thinking I don't need anything too high spec - more good memory size??

Can anyone guide me to anything decent at a decent price?

    Sorry for the general question:o

Thanks a million for the links ricman! I e-mailed them both and one of them is quoting €160 with 6months warranty and the other is quoting between €170 & €190 (says he would need to order the screen so can't give a definate price until he does).

I can't remember how much we paid for it - I think somewhere around the €400+ mark - Its a Toshiba Satellite L350 but I don't have the spec:o ... is it worth fixing do you think? Its a couple years old.
Would really appreciate any advice you can give please.
    Thanks so much!

you reboot pc ,wait 1 minute, press fn plus function ket simultaenously. for a few seconds.have vga monitor, hdtv turned on be4 pc is on.

oh, I'm sorry - I should have said that everything is working fine, there's 'just' a huge 'crack' on the screen and some 'bleeding' (is that the right word for black patches that look like something has run in the screen?) so its just the screen that needs to be replaced .. will go for it so - thank you very very much for all your help and patience with someone as clueless as me :o

I looked around on the net and I suppose your laptop is a Toshiba Sattelite L350-203, part number: PSLD8E-07300EN. It's have 17" Wide TruBrite XGA screen with high brightness.
