    Its in the US store.
However you have to set up an account with them at their home page and wait for them to activate your account and email you which theyre doing on a "first come first serve basis". 24 hrs and I've heard nothing back from them. I've a feeling they're going to limit accounts using the service rather than overload it initially so there might be a wait.

If you can't get the app yet I'd say you should sign up for an account now all the same so you won't be waiting when you do get the app. This is the address :http://desktop.onlive.com/

Vodio looks kinda cool. It's a bit like Flipboard, but for videos. It's fully customisable too.

Anyone else using this app called "Touchtv"? It's a bit like FilmOnTv except it has about 20-30 of the bigger American stations.

Edit: Nvm it's not that great actually, it just has small three-minute snippets of stuff :(

Unless I'm missing something, it's not like Film On as you can't stream any of the channels live. All it seems to do is pull down short promo clips from the channels, which is pretty useless if that's it.

Great Little War Game HD is now free. I found it an enjoyable turn-based strategy game which will while away a few hours...

    Question for comic book readers:

Is Comic Zeal worth buying? I'm currently using the free CloudReaders app which is fine, I guess, but I've heard good things about the former.

Anyone else find the RTE Player app really flakey? I try to watch a show and it flicks on for a split second and then bounces back to the home page again. Or sometimes I get sound and no pic! This is on new iPad. It seemed ok on the iPhone.

Tis the same on my iPad 2... Select a show, then it goes back to menu then you have to select to play it again.

Are there any media apps that will allow an ipad 1 to play a 720p .mkv file?
Dont want to convert it if at all possible, just add it to the ipad and play it.

If you're jailbroken XBMC will play 720p MKV's fine on the iPad1, I used to use it myself.

I have a lot of pdfs stored on my Ipad. Can someone tell me is there a simple way (existing function on ipad or an app I guess) to search for text strings within those pdfs without the hastle of opening the PDFs individually and searching within the open document. The search function in ibooks from what I can see search on the pdf title only, not the text within the doc.

    Thanks :)

Yeah, that came up when I searched the store. I take it I should take the reviews with a grain of salt?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,866 ✭✭✭Raoul

    What did the reviews say?

Think it might add a signature but I'm not really bothered about that. Sure just try it out anyway.
