pls pls tell me I don't have to give up coffee. Its all I have left :) - ok well, no its not, but I love coffee sooooo much.
I've given up sugar in it - I don't touch carbonated drinks and I've stopped with all the fluffy nonsense ones - latte etc and stick to a nice filter with a good blast of milk.

Is this really bad for me now too ?

Of course not. In moderation its grand . No need to be giving it up at all. Once your not downing mugfulls every hour your grand.

Stay away from the coffee mate, it's zapping you to bits. I'm not a fitness freak, or a health expert. But from experience, cutting out caffeine (I used to drink ridiculous amounts of pepsi, coke etc) I found myself with more energy just because I replaced drinking caffeine with cranberry juice and eating fruit.

Sorry, I just read this in another thread and panicked

On second reading I think he meant caffeinated drinks more than coffee but it was still enough to frighten the bejaysus outta me ! :)

    caffeinated, carbonated, suger loaded.
Coke and Pepsi, come on. Coffee with milk? 2 mugs a day is not a problem if you're exercising and eating right.

Coffee can lower your chances of getting parkinson's disease by a whopping 74%

"Researchers reported, in the May 16, 2007 online version of the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, about a 22-year study of 6710 men and women between the ages of 50 and 79. The study found that those who drank 10 or more cups of caffeine coffee per day had a whopping 74% lower risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. Although a previous 2004 study indicated that the benefit did not apply to women, experts now say that result only applied to post-menopausal women on hormones."

You don't have to give up coffee. Hell....you don't have to give up anything you dont want to. Coffee is lovely. I've had 2 mugs today and will probably have another 2 mugs throughout the day and maybe another mug of decaf tonight after training. Yum!

Personally I can't understand why anyone would stop drinking something as delicious as coffee unless it was sure to end their life (very) prematurely.

The post I made was directed at someone who was drinking an awful lot of coffee and eating fast food and wondering why they're tired.

    It's common sense like..

Coffeebucks' grande extra-choc mocachino frappadiddly with cream and syrup out the wazoo: bad.

Personally, when I gave up coffee, my chronic lower back pain disappeared within 1 day.

If you have no such symptoms, you should be ok.

To be honest if readin on some internet thread that you should give up coffee has you panicked, I think you might have a bit of a dependency issue. You're not jittery at the moment are you ?

Ha ha - how could you tell? I'd be doing the jitterbug after 10 or more cups of coffee, let alone having shakes.

In saying that, I love coffee very much!!! :)

well if you are prone to anxiety/stress or suffer with your nerves then even 1 cup of coffee can trigger symptoms and throw your body out of sink. if you are watching your calories then maybe cut out the lattes etc or opt for skinnys instead. i dont seem any harm in having a few cups of coffee at all. one thing to note or to watch is the amount of milk you are adding , as milk contains a far bit of sugar , so obviously if you are having 10 cups a day then you have a problem.

    go coffee
