Has anyone ever used one

They're fanf*ckingtastic! If there's ever a fly that annoys you, especially one of the big dirty arsed bluebottles, use this mofo on them and it will sizzle the living shíte out of them. You get a good crack and a flash and a tremendous feeling of self satisfaction.

And it's not cruel, whats cruel is the persistent buzzing that puts them in that situtation. Anyways, I always feed them to the spiders afterwards, circle of life etc

Yep, have one here beside me. They are great craic. I don't normally like killing things but flies I make an exception for, irritating little feckers. And the noise is so satisfying.

I wholeheartedly endorse this product.

I usually choke them with my spray deodorant to disorientate them, then I give them the newspaper treatment..

I tried the Raid approach but they'll usually just go off and hide somewhere that you can't get to them, then you'll have to listen to them buzzing around in distress until they finally snuff out.. quite unpleasant..

On the occasion that I've decided to be lenient and open the window nice and wide for them to leave, they usually just hover around the opening or smack off it a few times before flying back inside.. to their peril :cool:

Anyone know where in Dublin city centre you can get one? The light in the living room constantly has it's own solar system of flies, and I hate using sprays cos I want to feed the bodies to my carnivorous plants.

Hi I recently bought one (Shannon Town Shopping Centre, hardware Shop - €6.50) and the one thing the greatness involved made me realise was that it would be brilliant to have a good one for the kitchen wall - ie. mounted over kitchen cupboards or somewhere.

- Anyone recommend one that works well? Theres lot out there and some have really poor reviews.

Just killed a little fecker in my room today with a puzzle book. Felt great just after it happened and then i suddenly felt guilty. I did try and get it out the window but the bloody thing wouldnt go out.

Just on that.A thought occurred to me about sudoku.

If there were say 15 or 20 sudoku puzzles but you repeated them over and over 10 times in a book,would the puzzler catch on?

How miffed would you be if you found out that they were doing that?

I prefer to microwave the feckers instead. Statistically an annoying fly going around to every corner of the kitchen will find the open microwave door within a minute

Unless this microwave is for the exclusive use of nuking flyin things,I cannot agree.

The thought of buzz buzz disintegrating and his dog poo covered feet and his fat body of baby buzzes being smattered inside the vessel which I use to heat up my baked beans is hard to take.

That is fúcking deadly, I killed 3 flies today with a towel and nearly swatted my daughters Irish dancing trophies off the trophy cabinet........Where the fcuk did you buy this shít.:)

i have electric fly killers on the walls the ones you see in restaurants it just fry's em up i love to stunn the odd few as well and throw them into the spiders webs i love watching the spiders devouring them im a bit of a weird charcter

I don't have one myself but I used to work at a deli counter and they had a huge one, big industrial job! .... those noises were brill! Especially in those hot Summer (Summer?) days!
Occasionally, you'd get a stubborn fly and he'd fry for maybe 70 -90 seconds! Like that scene in The Green Mile - it got kinda uneasy watching it! All nearby staff and customers used to be glued to it!

I bought one years ago in Holland that was just a single grid but all the new ones have 3 separate layers so you wouldn't touch the live part (or children wouldnt hit each other with it) so thats kind of ruined things.

No - The electric swatter wins because theres a crackle when they ride the lightning, a little flash/sparks then a puff of smoke and then you can smell them as they cook - Its a really enjoyable vengance on the horrible little disease-ridden pests

They work really well on toddlers and children up to 10 years old too. I wouldn't get the triple-layered one though. You need good contact with the skin.

A few larger capacitors and an uprated dc-dc converter can remove the 10 year age limit

Well you have to remember that up until the electric fly swatter was invented this is the only way they had to kill flies in China.
