There is a Tractor factory in Russia, that during the reign of the soviet union, built tanks and machinery for the soviet army.

Its called The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant, it still exists today (http://chtz-uraltrac.com/) and its HUGE!

It was one of 4 military factory's in the soviet union.

When the factory made it's one millionth tractor all the ranking staff were given a watch to commemorate this event in 1984.

The watch was made by the famous Molnija watch factory also in Chelyabinsk. I havent opened it yet but I believe nearly all Moljina watches contain Ruby's in the mechanism so assume this one does also.

here it is: (sorry about the quality ,phone camera)

Hope you guys like it :) will post better picks when I get a loan of a better camera, and picks of some of the coins.

thats a nice looking watch with a bit of history.
I would be very interested to know the value.

thanks! Right now I think the value wouldnt be great, I guess between 50 to 100 euro and thats a very generous estimate.

however, the Molnija factory that made this watch (Molnija specialised in military watches and also made wathces for the Russian astronauts) closed in 2007.

There is no company left on Earth that makes watches using this mechanism.

so its a relic now of former technology.

Another thing about it, It has 18 Rubies inside the mechanism, as opposed to quartz which is more commonly used.
The original Owner ran this factory for the soviets and I know every owner of the watch and exactly how it passed to me, So I can claim a perfect and complete history for the watch from its creation. so it has good provenance, which is valuable to a collector also.

so my guess is, Molnija is gone 3 years now, this watch will certainly be worth something one day, maybe my children or my children children will make something substantial from this. Maybe :)

In reality its a nice family heirloom, which may be worth something someday. Either way its pretty cool :)
