i wouldn't go for the financial spread betting myself as you can lose more then you put in

i say go for the demo account here

i tried it and ended -100k (started with 40k) so i would go for the normal betting or for just buying shares 'with the middleman'

They act as middlemen too because the spread(the prices you can buy and sell at) is wider than actually trading through a broker
