Strictly from the point of view of getting tickets, probably not. I am a member the last few years and have managed to get tickets for all home internationals via the on-line ticket sale to SC members. This is important for me as I am not a member of a rugby club and have no reliable access to tickets. This year, they released some premium tickets to members on the on-line sale, and this was a great benefit to me anyway.

The big test will come this season when we see if members of the SC will be able to get tickest for the mini-statdium at Lansdowne Road. I don't want to be too pessimistic, but it almost certainly won't be as easy to get tickets now as it was for the mega stadium over in Drumcondra (Jaysus, isn't it a great place to watch sports?).

IMO, there is another aspect to it. I want to support the Ireland rugby team (and my provincial side, but that's another thread), so this is one way I can show some support, by paying the 50 quid to be a member of the SC, in the same way as you join a club to play or to show support for the club, not to get members' benefits.

    it will obviously be harder

at the old Lansdowne road there were ballots for the games more in demand, i.e. England, France, ....to a lesser extent wales and Scotland

we always picked up tickets to Italy

I always got tickets to AIs

The club has grown too so more members = less chance of getting a ticket in a ballot but we'll hope for the best
