After Interview

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for those who replied my earlier thread "Interview Help".

Now the interview is done I have another question to ask.

Interview went great. It was one of those feeling after the interview that I thought I will defo get the job. During the 1st round interview with HR manager I been told by HR that she was Impressed after answering her answers. Department Manager said after one question "Thats exactly what I was expecting from you" and another interview with Senior staff member she said "I never knew the amount of info you present to me" I guess she was impressed too.

Now interview done yesterday and I sent appreciation note straight after. I got call from HR this morning and she said "We all were really impressed with your performance in the interview and I think you had prepared very well but we will come back to you within 3 weeks after interviewing other candidates. We have too many canditates to be interviewed. In the meanwhile if you have any question please do come back to me"

Now I dont understand why after that all impression talks they said that they will come back to me within 3 weeks. If they were really impressed why not hire me!

    Any idea people?

DO you think I should go back to them maybe in a weeks period and if I should what do I say?

    Many thanks for replies :)

Yep, that's the way employers like to do things!

I think you should continue to apply for jobs and attend interviews until you find out for certain whether you got the first job.

If you've done a good interview (sounds like you did) and sent a follow up note already then I'm sure they are clear that you are interested/enthusiastic.

You've already been told the time frame they are working to. In my opinion another note would make you look desperate and/or potentially annoy them. I can't see how it would be beneficial.

If you've heard nothing in 3 weeks a note would be appropriate.

    sound!

Its just that why did they call me today and why not after 3 weeks! I would preffer the call at later period for whatever the outcome would be.ya know wat I mean...

I wonder thats part of their normal procedure?

They want you to know that you are still being considered for the position. That way if you get an offer from another company while they are going though their process you're more likely to give them a call to let them know you have to make a decision.

The most likely reason that they are waiting 3 weeks is that they have a number of other candidates to interview/assess. While you seem to have made a very good impression they will have to look at the other selected candidates as well, it would be remiss of them if they didn't do this, so I wouldn't be too bothered by the delay, and I wouldn't make contact with them again before the 3 weeks are up.

    Best of luck with it!
