Hello there, I am starting up a small dental practice - could anyone recommend an accounting package that would deal with client payments and employees (3) tax calculations - Thanks

Big Red Book is cheap and I think Sage is also giving away free version of TAS Book.

Sage QuickPay is also free for 3 employees or less.

Doing employees' wages can be a bit of a nightmare if you're not used to it. You might consider getting a local accountant to do all that for you. They will be glad of the work and won't charge a fortune for it.

Then, you might be able to do the rest of your accounting on spreadsheets, and get the accountant to handle VAT returns, etc.

Are you looking for both a wages package and an accounting package?
For wages Collsoft is a popular package and inexpensive- Very user friendly. I have a few clients using it and they are happy with it.

What accounting package you require depends on what you require from the package. There are numerous options, big Red book, quickbooks, TAS etc. You may even get away with using excel. Your accountant will probably have a prefered package that they recommend to their clients. We normally reccommenfd the big red book.

Have a look at Sage Quickpay Free (for up to Five Employees) and Tas Books Basics. Both are completely free of charge and will provide you with a full payroll and accounts package. Payroll is the same as Quickpay Plus but limited to five employees.
Tas Books Basics will allow you to track what you owe suppliers and are owed from customers, manage your bank accounts and do bank rec, P & L and balance sheet, vat and reports.

    I am connected
