    Hi,
I have a sony vaio laptop. Its a good few years old now. It works off windows XP . Model PCG-9S2. Its getting extremely slow. To do anything on it now takes ages. It keeps flashing up that The C drive is nearly full and to delete some files. I have no problem deleting files but I just dont want to delete the wrong files. When I go into add or remove software it displays a number of Microsoft programmes and other programmes like Java and adobe updates there are a good few of them and the vary in size from 85mb to 200mb. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what to delete to make laptop go faster.

    Thanks for your help.

Download and run this. It should clear a lot of junk. After that; it's a case of removing files you don't use and programs. Movies, music etc could be taking up a lot of space.

Also, running piriforms fragmentation software can give you a speed increase as well.

I put in a bigger harddrive into my laptop. Its a bit of work, and you need a sense of adventure.

to get a better visual sense of what is taking up your space I strongly reccomend this program. From there you can tell if movies and music are taking up most of the space or if you need to uninstall a game (using ccleaner)
