    Does your local pub have a slate? Have you ever had to use it?

    Have often had to myself but since i work there as well it's not really a problem. Hate the sort who leave a debt for a long time or have to be reminded to pay it though....

    Leinster House has been on my back for quite a while, they've invented some 3 digit figure & said it's all mine - outrageous compared to what my mates owe!

    My dad was telling me that a pub on the quays, The Coal Bunker I think it was had a 'slate book' and one night there was a power cut so one of the dockers hopped the counter, grabbed the book and flung into the Liffey.


    Clean slate for all after that :rolleyes:
