What do ye thing about this?

Personally I think its great, we (residents of the republic) have a vested intrested in what goes on in NI and needless to say policing is a huge issue.

I think it shows that we care and want a part in what goes on. As opposed to saying we dont really care, as we're alright down here. I say fair play to the pres for wnating to do this.

Do you think its appropiate for a 'foreign' head of state to attend a passing out of a police force?

Yeah thats exactly it. They say "passing out" in the Military too.

Its nice to see though. The PSNI have been of great help to the Gardaí and vica versa aswell I'm sure.

I think it's a nice move. Especially with the current difficulty in the Wee North. Well done Mary, you don't do much but you're doing well here!

There was a load of people of Joe Duffy.. just there giving out about it, saying some current PSNI officers are previous RUC officers and therefore have been involved in persicustion (or call it what ever), and the pres. shouldnt be attending the passing out.

But this is a 'passing out' therefore new grads. and I think it makes a good impression for the President of Ireland to attend, and make an impression of some sort on them.

Fyi its happening tomorrow, couldnt find a link for the op

Yeah, the same Queen who wants us all to eat nothing but spuds so she can then release a blight and kill us all.

Useless meme full of useless and misdirected 'I'm considerably better than yaaaou' is useless...

Wait, did I do it right?

She's a head of state, she represents us at official engagements and makes sure things are constitutional. Thats her job, she does it. Doesn't seem pointless at all.
