Stelios threatens action against easyJet

Stelios doesnt give a fiddlers toss about EasyJet's punctuality. Its just an excuse.

This is all to do with money. Stelios still has the rights to the Easy brand name. He stepped down as CEO and then further stepped down to the position of a non executive director. Which means basically he is just a pretty face. When he stepped down, he allowed the airline to still use the easy name, he allowed them to use the name for the princely some of £1.

In the meantime, he has tried to make the easy name a big success, with easy cruise and easy hotels etc etc. But they had no success really, so Stelios wants money back out of EasyJet. Its either that or he doesnt want the easy name associated with an airline that is doing terribly.

from what I gather, the "Easy" name is just a franchised brand name, like Virgin. If the company aren't operating to agreed standards and they are bringing th name into disrepute, then the owner can withdraw the right to use the brand (Virgin have threatened to do the same with Virgin media in the UK I believe as they are not performaing very well).

to me, it looks as though Ryanair's criticism of Sir stelios (And subsequent apology) have had the desired effect of highlighting how bad Easy jet have become.

Shame though, I like them as an airline.
