Ok Im in a dilemma and I dont know what to do :/ so around last week I go to power on my laptop (a packard bell easynot tj65) and it wont turn on, oh maybe its low on battery I thought so I plugged it in, no joy, I took the battery out and tried again, no luck, eventually it powered on when I plugged the charger in without the battery, I had to go out so I had to shut it down. So I come back and Its not working again  I tried what I did earlier several times even leaving it alone for a few hours and trying again but its not working at all :(

So ive gathered I need to get it repaired, but I dont know how to go about it :/ I bought the laptop in a currys in Newry last november (so under a year) but I really dont know what to do something like this never happened me before. so do I bring it to the shop where I bought it or can I go to a currys down here? or should I ring packard bell themselves and ask for a repair?

Im honestley stuck as to what to do so help would be much appreciated :)

Checking your warranty would be a good start. I'm not sure about Packard Bell but most laptop manufacturers will give a one year guarantee. You might also check with Currys to see what they can do for you. There's no harm in asking. There are plenty of other companies that repair computers and in my own experience, companies like Currys and PC World like to overcharge their customers for repairs.

With the laptop itself, does the power light activate when plugged into the mains (with or without the battery?). If it does then you likely have a problem with a component in the laptop itself. If it doesn't light up then you may have a dodgy power supply.

So if im covered under a one year guarantee would packard bell be liable to give me a replacement? Ill see about currys, currys is the last place I wanted to try, I bought it up north so would I not have to go up to the place I bought it to ask them or?

Well when I press the pwer button, nothing lights up. Then when I plug in the charger and press on still no on light (when the battery is in), you can see the blue light which means its charging I think. Then when I plug it in without a battery there is no light at all so :/

Ring the shop you bought it from and tell them the problem and see what they say...

The one year warranty would usually be a manufacturers warranty so you'd have to go to Packard Bell. But like Shzm said, ringing the store will give you the answers you need.

if you get it working again check your power management options and see if sleep mode is selected. i've heard it causing similar problems before
