Should landlord pay repairs/maintenance fee?

    Hi

Living in a fairly new housing estate...Management company sent a letter to all householders recently stating that they no longer have the resources to maintain the upkeep of the estate

In the meantime a residents association has been set up and following several meetings they propose that each householder makes a contribution of 100euro towards the upkeep of the grounds etc

I am only renting the house and my question is; Do I pay it or is the land lord obliged to pay it?

    Thanks in advance

It would appear that you have no obligation to pay, unless your lease says you have to pay it (highly unlikely).

A resident's association have no power to make anyone pay. They would require voluntary contributions.

A management company can only get funds from their shareholders through management fees.

Since you're renting, you have no obligation to pay either of the above.

But ..... since you live there, I assume you would like the area to look nice and to be well kept?

It's up to the landlord to pay maintenance for the area and not the tenant.
