    Hi All,

I was just looking for ye're opinion as what ye think I should do with a problem I have. I played in an Open Singles in a club in Limerick on Monday. I went to the Pro Shop, paid the fee and handed over my GUI card which was swiped. I had a good score of 39 and went into the changing room after the round to enter the score on the computer. When I tried to swipe my card it said something along the lines of "player not entered in competition". I was a bit annoyed but wrote my GUI number on the card and put it in the scorecard box and said I would ring them Tuesday morning. I rang Tuesday morning and got a response saying there was nothing they can do cause my card was never swiped in!! I said it was not my fault as I handed my card over in the Pro Shop and paid my fee. They said they would pass it on to the competition committee and get back to me. Still no word since then, however I do know I did not win the comp as 43 was in, but thats not the point. If I wasn't in the competition I want to know why and my money back as thats why I played. What do ye think?

You could just write a polite letter to the Comp. Sec. I'd stick to the facts of what happened and not go demanding my money back though.

the guy done nothing wrong he should demand his money back, and get a satisfactory explaination and apology while hes at it.
imagine he had the winning score?

I would just look for your card to affect your handicap on what was ccs on the day. The fact that your card wasn't even entered means the standard scratch on that day wasn't accurate anyway, the least they can do after all that is completed is then refund your money or treat you to a green fee or two!!

Unfortunately it's the player's responsibility to make sure everything is done right. Obviously handing over your card was not enough.

I think i know that particular club and its very unusual for them to make a mistake like that. You should write a polite letter to the comp sec as explained above, i'm sure they will sort you out. Good score by the way.

on most of those computeres you can sign in then enter your score if the computer was not in the pro shop how did you expect to be signed in.
