    Hi
I've been quoted a ridiculously high price for 2 crowns. Have been searching the internet and just wondered if anyone has gone to Budapest for Dental Treatment and if so, how did you get on?
    Cheers

Thanks for the info. Just wondering if you could recommend a particular place in Budapest? Cheers

900ea , including any necessary post/core, is not excessive for Dublin or Cork.

As it happens my fee is 800 but I am in a provincial town. And I know other regions where it is as low as 600.

You would pay similar prices for the same work in the UK, Canada, USA.

South Africa and Australia are cheaper but quality is good.

Things are different in Eastern Europe, Spain, Mexico. There, the word "crown" is the same but the product is different.

Just yesterday I saw a doctor's wife from Sudan complaining of pain from bridgework she had done in her country last year. The work was horrendous and her teeth ruined.

A friendly rep from Ovens Co Cork enticing you to accept cheap dental treatment in Eastern Europe is not necessarily in your best interests.

Hi - I think it is excessive when you can get the same product in Budapest for 400. I also checked and it is 400 stg in UK - why do we have to pay double for everything in Ireland.

I thought I explained that it is not the same product. far from it. I have seen and replaced plenty of them.

Search a few more places in UK and you will find prices approaching £1000 also.

Search for the price of cars and handbags also and you will notice price varies with quality of product.

PS a crown is not a product by the way. Go to Budapest if you wish. But you did ask for recommendations and advice.:)

The Irish Dental Association and some Irish dentists have taken a narrow self serving position in trying to denigrate and to undermine the quality of the dental treatment carried out by their colleagues in Hungary. They refuse to acknowledge that Hungarian dentists are trained in and are graduates of one of the most highly regarded and highly respected Medical teaching systems in the World.

Graduates of Semmelweiss Medical University and Szeged University are recognised to be of the best trained dentists in the World.

The positive opinions of the overwhelming majority of satisfied patients who have received dental treatment in Budapest would certainly seem to give a fairer reflection of the facts and of the truth rather than the opinions of the narrow base of possibly biased, Irish dentists.

We are criticising the quality of dental treatment provided to Irish and English patients in Budapest, not the dental dept and teaching school Semmelweiss. We know very little about the dentists who provide the treatment. We are only criticising the very very bad dental work that we see in people's mouths when they come to us for help afterwards. Gross malpractice bordering on criminal.

I invite you to catch a cheap flight to Ireland and come visit me at my office and I will show you photos , Xrays, and models of such work. Real evidence and not mere opinion.

Would we be right in suspecting that U Christina is a shill for your business? And you are a rep for a Budapest dental spa?
