    Hi All,

I installed the Rules of Golf from the app store for free the other evening, very handy to have the rules in your bag. It's offical from RandA.org, it has general guide, Etiquette, Rules, Favourites and Quiz. I found the Quiz very handy when in boring meetings :)

Enjoy, it's free. Also, looking into it, it says that "Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players", so I would suggest putting your phone in airplane mode before going out on the course :)

    Handy little app that.

Has corrected me on a rule which i though was pretty straightforward - hitting your ball with a practice swing, aparently its not taken as a stroke. What do you do in that circumstance?

You replace the ball and add a penalty stroke.

could you take the first mis-hit as a stroke and play on?

    Sorry for going off topic.

No, either you meant to hit it (a stroke) or you didn't (moved by mistake).

Very impressed by the app... handy.
Spotted that there was a USGA version recently but didn't see the R&A one

I use igolf rules but you pay for it
but very quick to consult to

if you play without replacing after a practice swing you incur 2 penalty strokes.
Think it boils down to you never having a choice in golf
