kill eggtree?

    hi there
    does anyone know of a good herbicide to kill off an eggtree hedge.
    its gotten wide and overgrown and short of gettin in a digger to rip them out im lost. roundup didnt do the trick when i sprayed last sept. it went brown but back this year as strong as ever. any help wpould be great

    Cut it all off at ground level this autumn and when soft new growth comes next spring spray it with Roundup concentrate. Even if you dig it out the chances are that you'll get regrowth next Spring so you'd have to spray it then anyway. There was a time when a good dose of sodium chlorate would have done the job in one go but thanks to Brussels and Health and Safety, car bombs, etc etc sodium chlorate is no longer available - not to us ordinary folk at least !

    nocticed ur post re rushes , how did that work out and what did you use?
    i have the same prob , i got mcpa? as it seems to be most recconmended

    Maybe you could post a picture of an egg tree for the benefit of us that haven't a clue of what it is?
