Diploma in German

Hey, I'm looking into doing the Diploma in German, but I don't want to invest all the time and money, only to find that it's not as useful as I hoped it might be. Just wondering, does anyone have any experience of this course, and if so, how useful is proficiency in German, or any second language, in the jobs market? Would I be better off taking a more technical subject?

Just for the sake of background, I have a BA in New Media & English from UL, as well as a Dip in Advertising & Marketing from the Western Management Centre in Galway... any thoughts?

Mods please move if this is not the appropriate forum :)
