    I assume we're talking Td5 Disco II?

Don't know who does it here but the acknowleged Td5 experts in the UK are BAS, IRB and Td5 Alive who all use the same tunes developed by IRB. They may have agents here but Td5 Alive at least will do it by post if you can be without the vehicle for a few days (you send them the ECU). You can also do it by email if you have a Nanocom or Hawkeye to flash the ecu yourself.

They prefer to do it person, IRB and BAs will spend up to half a day with a vehicle getting it how you want it, there are dozens of different fuel maps depending on whether you fast road use, heavy towing etc. You can squeeze over 200bhp out of a Td5.

The benefits are better acceleration, driveability and usually improved fuel economy. A tune is around £450 but to really benefit you should ditch the cat and the EGR valve and fit a high flow filter. Stage 2 tune is around £900 but this includes a bigger intercooler.

Be wary of generic tuning companies and don't use piggyback chips that fool the ecu, you will be disappointed!

Provided you get it done by someone who knows what they are doing, none at all, the mods listed above will have no effect on DOE/NCT emissions tests

Poor tunes can lead to undriveability, excessive smoke or too high exhaust temps and warped manifolds.

You should of course declare it to your insurance company.
