    My dad is looking at buying a new acr and wants sumting with a bit of comfort as he is pushing on ;)

    Heres the style car he is interested in. Any knon problems that they give that would render them a bad car ??

    i know a bit about cars but nothing about s-types. Any help will be greatly appreciated

    There is anecdotal evidence that the autobox is very unreliable on S- and X-Types. I've seen four or five on Donedeal over the past six months selling at knockdown prices because the autobox was gone. If he's not worried about the tax and fuel costs there are loads of great cars out there.

    Bargain! Nice comfy cars but the S-type is nowhere near as reliable as you read in the main media. That said, new NCT and if the car is smooth, what could go wrong very soon?
