    Anyone here done it before?

Just fixed my YLOD launch 60gb! Its been broken for about 15 months now and I finally fixed it. Followed his guide to the letter and it actually works.. kind of surprised but WOO lol

Just curious about how long its gonna last for now.. At the moment I'm letting it settle. I just turned it on, launched killzone 2 to check the blueray drive, all working. Wont turn it on until tomorrow now. Anyone else out there used his guide? How long did it last for?

Really CBA buying a new ps3 or paying sony 150 for a refurb.

BACK UP THE HDD before it's too late.

The thing about the refurb is that while Sony will allow you the opportunity to pay €150 with a voided warranty even if it was still valid or not before fixing it, they may refuse if any additional damage has been caused when you fixed it.

    Done already :P

I did contact Sony before I repaired it myself. 150 euro and 7 weeks wait time ( took them 4 days to reply to my email sent on a monday)... Its damn poor. They also said I needed to bring it back to where I bought it... Which if true meant I needed to drive to Waterford. Its not bad of them to offer refurbs for 150, but IMO if they dont extend warranties they should be giving those refurbs away for free. I can remember microsoft giving me 3 360's for free for an event I organised.(refurbs, and no kettle cables mind you)

    * shakes fists at Sony *
